Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai (Bantry Community College) was established through the amalgamation of St. Goban´s Bantry and Ardscoil Phobail Bheanntrai and now caters for over 700 post primary students and has a staff of approx 80.
On Tuesday 11th October 2011 the doors of our new state of the art college opened for the first time to welcome students.
The college was officially opened on March 30th, 2012 by Seán Sherlock, Minister for Research & Innovation. Speaking at the official opening Minister Sherlock said :
“I am delighted to see that these resources include information and communications technologies, multi media learning laboratories, science laboratories, woodwork and engineering rooms.”
The college operates under the co-trusteeship of Cork Education and Training Board and the Diocese of Cork and Ross.
The College is co-educational and multi-denominational.
