A action packed “CPB in the Community” post this week with some incredible achievements by some of our students outside of school. As always, we love to promote our students achievements, but we can only post what we know so don’t hesitate to contact us.
🏐Congratulations to Dara Sheedy and Liam Hourihan who represented the Cork U17 Gaelic Football team in a fantastic win over Kerry in the Munster Championship last Tuesday. Good luck to them as they take on Tipperary in the next round tonight in Thurles!
🏉Congratulations to Grace Kingston, who played in the U16 Munster 7s at the weekend in Dublin, and will play again next weekend. Grace scored 3 trys over the day of games.
Grace only started playing rugby this year and was part of our Junior Cup team, who made it to the semi-final. Grace was seen by Munster development officers at these games and was invited to trials soon after. We look forward to many years of seeing her represent school, club and province.
🏀 Congratulations to Charlie Curran and Jack Phillips who represented Cork U17 Basketball in the Inter League Championships last weekend beating Kerry, Mayo and North East. Well done boys!
🏀U/14’s girls made up of the following CPB students Aoife Hinnell, Sinead Hinnell, Matilda Hogan, Annie Doody, Belle O’Donoghue, Alice O’Donovan, Muireann O’Leary, Fiona Buckley, Nadia Ustjanov, Ella Foley and Emma Barry finished the season in equal first place and qualified for the top 4 final in Cork where they played for Mathew’s. A tight game where the lead changed many times. The girls lost by 5 points in the end but can hold their heads up high for a tremendous season.
🏀Well done to Oisín O’ Connor of the Rebel Wheelers Basketball team who brought the curtain down on his debut season in style! Wins over North East Thunder and then Titans Galway sealed a double, claiming the Green/Walsh Cup! Well done Oisín.
