🏀Congratulations to Oisín O’ Connor who was part of the Rebel Wheelers Basketball team who made history last week by winning their 5th IWA National Wheelchair Basketball Cup in a row. A fantastic achievement by the team and by Oisín who is going from strength to strength in wheelchair basketball.

Below is a photo of the Irish Atlantic Challenge Crew 2024 and there Trainers from the Mariners Ball that took place in the Westlodge hotel on Saturday night.  The team will be competing in Maine Boston USA in July 2024.  The competition takes place every two years in a different host country with 15 countries competing  and consists of a sailing, rowing, navigation, knot tying, seamanship skills. It is a highly skilled competition but was formed on the bases of bring young people together from different nationalities.  The boat the Unité is in based in Bantry.

The competition is run and trained by volunteers and the Ball was a fund raiser to get the Boat shipped out to Maine.  All going well the competition will be back in Bantry in 2028.  As you can see most of the crew are our students.
