On Monday our senior boys football team took to the home pitch to play Kanturk in the senior football county final. This team have been playing super football and have already qualified for the Munster final last week. CPB Started the game brightly and in the first half converted 2-8 with some great finishing from Dara Sheedy and Ben O’Sullivan who finished up with personal tallies of 0-7 and 1-3 respectively. Kian Kelleher also raised a green flag for CPB with Cathal McCarthy’s excellent work rate paying dividends. The hard working defensive unit made the opposition work hard for scores leaving the half time score 2-8 to 1-3 in CPB’s favour. Callum McElhinney’s passing was sublime as he also contributed a point. Liam Hourihan made excellent runs while Mark O’Sullivan controlled the game well from the heart of the CPB defence. Sean Cronin was as solid as ever in the backs turning over possession time and time again. The boys held firm in the second half scoring five more points to see the game out on a scoreline of 2-13 to 2-5. They now look forward to a county final also!
