Health Care Support

This course provides students with the essential knowledge, skills and competencies
necessary to work in a range of health and social care environments such as:
➢ Nursing homes,
➢ Individual client homes
➢ Community health or social care services
➢ Hospitals
The course includes a module on Infection Prevent and Control, which is a key requirement
in all health care settings today.
Throughout the course emphasis is placed on the importance of issues such as dignity,
privacy, confidentiality, empathy and respect in the care of a client. Learners will develop the
required skills to provide care and support in a fully equipped clinical room for all of their
practical work. During the course you will have an opportunity to work in a health and/or
social care setting, where you experience first-hand care being delivered.
