Our Transition Year Coach Education group rounded off a great year of active learning with 26 students completing their FAI Player Development 1 qualification with a workshop from former Republic of Ireland Men’s International player Alan Bennett.
Following on from their ‘Introduction to Soccer’ with First Year and Second Year Girls, the Transition Year Coach Education Group delivered fundraising soccer tournaments for our First Year and Second Year Boys. The events helped with the purchase of new match balls and training balls for our school teams to use next season.
Our Transition Year students put their FAI Player Development Programme active learning into practice, taking charge of scheduling, timekeeping, updating scores and league tables, refereeing, and even arrived fully suited and booted to give their players the full manager experience from the touchline!
