Now and again we like to share some news with you that is not directly related to Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí, but is all about other fantastic achievements our students are involved with out in the community. 🏐Congratulations to Maggie O’Donoghue and Michaela O’Sullivan who won the Johnny Hayes U14A Munster final on Saturday defeating Kerry on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-9
🏐The very best of luck to Cathal McCarthy of Transition Year who will line out for the Cork Minor Gaelic Footballers tonight vs Kerry in Austin Stack Park, Tralee.
🏐 The very best of luck to Mark O’ Sullivan and Dara Sheedy who will also line out for Cork, with the U20’s on Wednesday night vs Kerry in Austin Stack Park, Tralee.
🥊After starring as the lead role of Danny in the TY Musical Grease Oran Brady flew out to Italy to join his brother Oisin at the Italian World Cup just before the Easter holidays. Óran won both gold and bronze medals and Oisín has progressed now to the senior ring winning bronze. Two weeks before the boys were at the kickboxing national tatami championships where both excelled. Óran competed in three sections and brought hold three Golds. Oisin competed in the seniors and won his section in style. He has round two coming up soon. Both boys also have their full contact ring nationals coming up at the end of April . Oisin also has a fight night in ring in Clontarf Castle 2nd week of May. This is on the card of a professional fight night.
They are excelling at kickboxing and beating the best in the world. Well done boys form everyone at CPB!
🏀 Well done to Basketballers Clodagh Downey and Abbey O’ Sullivan who were in the Cork Under 17 team that won the UL Inter Regional tournament in UL a few weeks ago. Fantastic achievement girls! This Monday Bank Holiday Charlie Curran and Jack Phillips will represent Cork, also at Under 17 level, at the NABC Inter Regional Championships in Gormanston. Good luck boys!
🏀 Well done to Conor Hourihan, Seán Holland, Corey O’ Sullivan, Max Leahy, Rory Breen and Micheál Coppinger who were all part of the Bantry Basketball U14 team who won the Cork County Championship on Saturday in Parochial Hall, Cork vs Skibbereen.
⚽️Congratulations to 3rd year student Art O’ Leary who played for West Cork U15 soccer team last weekend in Inisowen in their victory over Inisowen Leage. Art will play in the All-Ireland final vs Kilkenny on May 18th.
