On Thursday the 1st year girls played their first football match for CPB at home against Sacred Heart Clonakilty. CPB got off to a great start being awarded a penalty in the first minute which Rebecca O’Connor slotted into the back of the net. Sacred Heart recovered from this early blow and got some nice scores with no reply on the scoreboard from CPB. After half time the CPB girls regrouped and put in a much stronger performance with much improved passing and a great work rate. They kept the opposition to just two points in the second half while scoring 2 themselves from well taken frees. There were lost of great performances with special mention to Caoimhe Hurley, Caragh McCarthy and Emily Conlon. Sacred Heart took the win but the CPB girls can be proud of a battling performance. They play Macroom in the next round.
