On Wednesday 19th of March, our Girls Junior Rugby Team met Sacred Hearth Clonakilty in the Junior Cup Final in Virgin Media Park. The CPB girls put in an extremely strong performance, showing continued improvement from their previous matches. SCS scored the first and second tries, but there was sustained pressure by both teams and some strong defending, with players putting their bodies on the line. CPBs skill and pace paid off just before half time with a score by Serene Lehane with was converted by Zoe Hicks. At halt time the score was 7-14, in favour of SCS with all to play for. The second half was an epic battle between the two West Cork sides with both teams camping out on the oppositons 5m line. It was a game of extremely slim margins. SCS crossed the line again 13 minutes into the second half. Despite continued attack by CPB the game ended 7-19.
Congratulations to SCS on their win.
Well done to our CPB Juniors, they continued chasing the game until the last minute.
