On Wednesday our junior ladies football team opened their Munster campaign against Scoil Phobal Sliabh Luachra, Rathmore. Despite the rain and poor weather the girls gave a great display of football. At half time there was only two points between the teams but CPB dominated the second half to ensure victory. Ella Foley in goals was excellent on kickouts and made some really important saves. In defence Norah Cronin was rock solid making countless blocks and interceptions. Eibhlin Burke and Chloe Daly gave a great defensive display also. Lauren Connell excelled at midfield and scored 2-3 on the day. Abbie O’Sullivan’s pace was causing problems for Rathmore and she contributed a goal to CPB’s tally. Molly O’Mahony also raised a green flag as well as a point. Fiona Buckley, Emma Healy and Mary Murphy all got their names on the score board also. Final score CPB 4-8 to Rathmore 1-11.
