On Thursday the u15 girls and u19 girls soccer teams played a double header on the school pitch. First up was the U15’s v Colaiste Mhuire Cobh in the Cork Cup. This was a very close game played out between two very evenly matched teams. Maggie O’Donoghue Scored CPB’s only goal of the match in the first half leaving the halftime score 1-1. Michaela O’Sullivan came very close to scoring and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with her effort. Sophie Daly and Seren Lehane were excellent alongside all the defensive unit making the opposition work hard to get their scores. Unfortunately, the opposition scored a second goal in the second half to take victory.
Next up where the u19 girls who played Beara Community School. In the first half CPB scored two goals and conceded one to the opposition. The second-half was a very one sided affair with CPB scoring three more goals. Meadhbh Sammon scored a fantastic hat-trick with Molly Harrington scoring CPB’s other goals. Aoibhinn Arundel impressed in goals with Rebecca Keane having a great game in defence.
