Well done to our Boys u15 footballers who yesterday defeated Boherbue Comprehensive School in the opening round of their Munster Championship campaign.
Our boys got off to the worst possible start, when in their first attack, Boherbue struck for a very early goal. However, this sparked our boys into life and they slowly began to dominate proceedings. Darragh Coppinger, Oran O’Connell and Jack O’Brien began to cause havoc through the middle of the Boherbue defence, as the Duhallow outift could not live with their direct running. Billy O’Mahony was lethal up front. While in the backs, Ronan Kennan, Steven O’Sullivan & captain Danny O’Donovan led a much tightened defence. CPB led by 8 points at the short whistle. Entering the 2nd half, our defence once again held firm knowing Boherbue, with home advantage, would not give-in without a fight. Tigerish defending from Kevin Nash, Conor O’Sullivan & Ruairi O’Brien, who were well marshalled throughout by their goalie Tom Conlon, ensured Boherbue never looked like salvaging a way back into this game. CPB ran out 7 point winners on a scoreline of 5-12 to 4-8.
We now move onto the next round of the Munster championship to play the winners of Mitchelstown CBS & Our Lady’s Templemore. Well done to all!
