Commiserations to our u15 footballers who on Monday were defeated by Our Ladys School Templemore in the Munster Championship. Playing against a strong wind, our backs held firm despite coming under some early pressure, with Danny O’Donovan, Conor O’Sullivan, Dara O’Sullivan and Ruairi O’Brien showing some resolute defending. CPB grew into the game as the half wore on, with Darragh Coppinger, Steven O’Sullivan, Max Flynn and Billy O’Mahony beginning to cause problems. Templemore’s physicality and direct running saw them kick some late scores in the first half, who took a 0-9 to 0-3 lead. Our boys however were not going to go down without a fight and kicked 1-5 in the third quarter without reply, with Billy O Mahony converting a penalty. Templemore then won a penalty themselves, which they duly converted and finally beat CPB goalie Tom Conlon, who made 4 huge saves throughout the game. Templemore grew massive confidence from this, finished the stronger and finally saw off a resilient and sturrborn CPB side. Huge positives can be taken from their effort and commitment, both today & in their first round win against Boherbue.
