On the 2nd of the April the girls u15 soccer team played Terence McSwiney in the girls u15 soccer Cork cup semi-final in Castleview North Cork. CPB had a slow start with a few hiccups in defence and a quiet attack in the first half. The girls came off at half time down 2-1 the one goal from Katie Murphy who chipped the keeper with help from the windy conditions. They came out in the second half with an improved attack and a more solid defence scoring twice to equalize with a clinical goal from Michaela O’ Sullivan which sparked the comeback from CPB. Amy O’Donovan kept CPB in the game with a pair of heroic saves. In the dying minutes of the battle, super-sub-Niamh O’Sullivan made an instant impact in the tense last moments of the match, scoring the winner to send CPB to the final of the u15 Cork Cup. It was an entertaining match that wasn’t short of drama. Thanks to Terence McSwiney for a sporting contest.
