On Friday our u16 and u19 girls basketball teams played Coláiste Choilm in the A league at home.
The U16s were up first with Coláiste Choilm starting much stronger building a good lead by the end of the first quarter. The CPB girls battled hard and scored some lovely baskets with Belle O’Donoghue getting two lovely 3 pointers. Nadia Ustjanowska and Belle together combined accounted for 25 points from CPB’s 29 point tally with Emma Barry contributing the other 4 points. June Diaz gave an excellent display in defence turning over vital possession in the game.

Next up were the u19 girls in what turned out to be a cracking game between two very evenly matches teams. CPB started brightly with a 17-4 lead in the first quarter. Coláiste Choilm fought back well in the second quarter to leave only 4 points between the sides at half time. It was a very close affair for the remainder of the game with CPB maintaining their lead at the end of the third and final quarters thanks to strong defence and scoring. Abbie O’Sullivan was top scorere with 21 points, including four 3 pointers. Katie Russell also contributed 13 points on the day to the final tally. Final score CPB 46 Colásite Choilm 42
