On Tuesday the U19 boys soccer played out a thrilling match against Carrigtwohill in the Munster Senior Shield. CPB’s Brian Connell scored the only goal of the first half from the penalty spot with the defence nullifying any of the opposition attempts to score. Callum McElhinney got on the scoresheet in the second half while the opposition scored two of their own to leave the scoreline level at full time. The opposition made more of their opportunities in extra time with the final result 4-2 to Carrigtwohill. Ben Clancy was solid in goals pulling off important saves. Ryan O’Boy, Ben O’Sullivan, Luke Salter Townshend and Eoin Bowden created great opportunities for the attackers with Fionn O’Donovan excellent in defence. Hard luck to the boys after a great battle!
