On Monday our Junior ladies played their County semi final at home against Coláiste Ghobnatan, Ballyvourney. It was a highly competitive match throughout with great football on display form both sides. CPB worked very well together as a team. There was great blocking by Molly O’Sullivan at centre back with Ella Foley in goal making some vital saves. Anna McCarthy gave a great defensive display along with all the backs. Ali O’Sullivan, Meadhbh Sammon and Sheelagh O’Donovan worked tirelessly to carry the ball forward for CPB making consistently good runs. Molly Harrington was a great option in the inside forwards with goals coming from Aoidhe Murphy and Ali O’Sullivan for CPB. Caoimhe McCarthy scored a lovely point after nice interplay from Ali and Meadhbh. CPB had six different scorers on the day which shows the depth of talent in the squad with the subs making a great impact also. However, as the saying goes goals win games and Coláiste Ghobnatan took the victory. Hard luck to the CPB ladies but they can hodld their heads high to make it to this stage.
Half time score : 2-4 CPB and 4-6 Coláiste Ghobnatan. Full time score 2-13 CPB and Coláiste Ghobnatan 7-7.
