On Thursday 23rd February Ms Mulhall along with her Vocational Preparation and Guidance class organised a student v staff soccer match in aid of the Air Ambulance. The sun was shining as a huge crowd gathered to watch the enthralling contest. There was plenty of skill on show on both sides in a highly competitive contest. Ms McCarthy set the pace of the game from the get go with great tackles and setting up the first goal for the staff! Jack O’Brien and Killian Kingston made great driving runs for the students with Jake Ross and Steven McCarthy producing some vital tackles. The staff had the advantage of rolling subs so Dara Sheedy and James Harrington joined the LCA students also in the second half. Mr Graham stole the show with a series of incredible saves while Mr O’Reilly claimed the match ball at the end with a hattrick on the day. Lisa McCarthy gave a great defensive display in and out of goals. Emma Ward scored a great penalty at the death but the teachers still claimed the victory! It was a game played in great spirits and the crowd created a brilliant atmosphere. Well done to all the staff and students who took part! A huge thanks to referee Colin Clancy for giving so freely of his time in aid of a worthy cause. He has been really good to the LCA class this year and we really appreciate it!
