On Monday, the 7th of April, we are hosting our first-ever mixed ability basketball match at CPB! This game is for our junior players, with Anna, Riley, Eoghan, Aaron and Terence from the Hub teaming up with Naomi, Harry, Cara, Callie and Conor from mainstream. Together, they’ll take on Beara Community School in what we hope will be the start of a new tradition.
This began during a hub PE lesson, where the students played a basketball match together. It was a chance for integration between the hub and mainstream through sport.
Inspired by the Jesters rugby model, our goal is to encourage more schools to get involved and make mixed ability basketball a regular fixture in the school ECA calendar. This match is especially significant, as it marks the first time students from the Hub will have the opportunity to wear a school jersey and represent us in a sports event, an incredible milestone for them and their families 🏀🏀🏀
