On Tuesday the 19th of November the senior boy’s rugby team took on Midleton CBS in the Mungret cup at school. the lads started the game off well with a try from Conor
Young converted by Conor Bignell. Daniel Ward and Alex Nell put in some great tackles. CPB held up 3 tries from Midleton to keep them in the lead. Just before the half time whistle Midleton put over a penalty leaving the score at half time 7-3 . Vincent McCarthy had a great contest in both defence and attacking lineouts. Conor Bignell had some unbelievable kicks for clear putting the team in a good position for attacking. Eli Reynolds and Daniel Coughlan showed their work rate and demonstrated great defence. John joe Nicholas contested well in rucks. In the second half Midleton scored 4 tries and converted 2 but CPB kept their head in the game and put up a fierce battle holding up 2 tries in the second half. Before the full-time whistle Daniel Ward secured a try followed by a conversion from Conor Bignell.
The final score was 25-14
