Yesterday our senior boys footballers played Skibbereen Community School in a very entertaining match. The boys gave an excellent display all over the pitch. Some standout performances from Cillian O’Brien and Jack Sheedy who were rock solid in the backs making some great tackles and carrying the ball out from deep in their own half. Robert Cronin was excellent aerially and won vital possession in midfield. At half time the score was 0-8 to 2-7. Up front Paddy Cronin had his shooting boots on, kicking 0-8 during the hour. Dara Sheedy impressed with some very accurate passing and showed great strength on the ball, contributing 1-1 to the scoreline. Close to the very end of full time Fionn Barry finished an excellent goal after Paddy Cronin supplied a perfect pass which brought the teams to within two points of each other. Unfortunately, Skibbereen held on to win on a scoreline of 2-13 to 3-12. Well done lads. Best of luck in your upcoming game against Rochestown.
