Congratulations to our boys u15 footballers who have qualified for the Munster Final, after yesterday beating Kinsale Community School on a scoreline of 3-7 to 1-11.
Kinsale had lots of possession in the early stages, but struggled to break down a tough CPB defence, with James Murphy, Darragh Coppinger and Oisin Daly in particular keeping Kinsale at bay. Our lads grew into the game and thanks to goals from DJ O-Brien, CPB had a 2-4 to 0-4 lead at half time. Scores were exchanged at the beginning of the 2nd half. Kinsale’s free taker was on song as they started to eat into the CPB’s lead. A goal from Dan Joe O’Neill was quickly cancelled out from a Kinsale goal of their own. A frantic finale ensued, with goalkeeper Luke O’Sullivan making a fantastic save, before Colin Cronin stepped up when it mattered most to give our lads a badly needed score, and with that sent CPB into the final.
CPB now await the winners of Friday’s semi-final between Patrician Academy Mallow & Coláiste Dún Iascaigh (Cahir). Well done to all involved!
