Congrats to our u14 footballers who today finished runners up in the Cork GAA blitz which was held in Pairc Ui Chaoimh 4G pitch.
Up first for CPB was the challenge of Charleville. After a slow start, our boys settled into the game with Daragh O’Sullivan, Shane O’Brien and Steven O’Sullivan marshalling the defence, while Darragh Coppinger & Oran O’Connell dominated the middle of the park. Up front, Billy O’Mahony and Jack O’Brien were causing havoc for the Charleville defence. Bantry ran out 3-14 to 3-5 winners.
Our boys then had a quick changeover as they played their next game immediately after a short break. Facing a strong North Mon outfit, who also had the advantage of not playing in the first game. Despite North Mon getting off to a flying start, 2nd half goals from Joey Sheehan & Mattie Abele demonstrated CPB’s determination to fight to the bitter end. Our boys can be very proud of their performances on the day. Attentions now turn to preparing for the Dr Herlihy Cup next month.
Thanks also to @CorkGAACoaching for organising the event.
