On Wednesday, 20th of November, our under 19 girls’ basketball team travelled to Mallow to play in the girls u19A girls semifinal. Bantry put up a great fight against Saint Marys Mallow school but unfortunately did not take home the win. Meadhbh Sammon gave a fantastic shooting display scoring 16 points and some fast breaks setting Bantry up for a good start while Katie Russell, Anna Conlon and Norah Cronin dominating under the boards and were outstanding defensively. Abbie O’Sullivan had some lovely outside shots and worked hard on defence. Leah Cotter had some lovely assists. Everyone on the team worked really had and put in lots of effort. Well done to the sixth year girls in their last basketball team for CPB.
