The U.15 boy’s basketball team played their County Quarter- Final v Coláiste an Phiarsaigh of Glanmire today and came out with the win by 1 point victory at the end of a nail- biting game.
CPB started off strong with some intense fast breaks by Killian Hurley, Oisín Murphy and Shay O’Donovan who were assisted offensively by some great rebounds and scores by James Murphy and Charlie Swayne. Adam Gilman- Burke made a huge impact under the basket as well as Cian Hayden, again securing most rebounds that came their way, while Dan Joe O’ Neill played a blinder on defence.
In the 2nd half CPB were still in the lead with our 1st year player Tom Conlon scoring a few points and Colin McCarthy was a great asset on defence. Glanmire started gaining control of the game and CPB were under pressure, a last minute steal from Tom Conlon kept us in the lead and we came away with the win.
Fairplay to all players, into the semi final next week at home to Coláiste Stiofán Naofa.
