Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai are organising a ‘Cinema Fundraising Event’ on Monday 25th April in support of the ‘Adharana’ Special School for the Physically and Mentally Disabled, a school in India which is run by Babu, who is the relative of an ‘Air India’ victim and Babu is one of the sponsors of the ‘Air India’ Scholarship awarded to student(s) in this school annually. See http://adharana.org/index.html for further details. The fundraising event on Monday is being run in conjunction with Mr Stephen Keohane at Cinemax Bantry who has generously provided complimentary use of the Cinema for the screening of films and Mick Cremin of Cremin Coaches who is providing free buses to transport students from the school to the cinema and back. The admission fee to view the film, is being set at €5, is being collected from students in school and the monies collected will be presented to Babu when he visits Bantry in June and will represent a considerable donation to the running of ‘Adharana’ school. All students who are visiting the Cinema on Monday 25th for the event are to be in school on Monday in full school uniform for roll call at the commencement of first class. It is proposed that 2nd year and 5th year students will be brought to the cinema by bus from the school for the morning viewing of the film, returning to the school by 12.15 p.m. for regular classes for the remainder of the day while 1st year and 3rd year students will have regular classes up to 12.15 p.m. when they will then leave the school and be brought by bus to the cinema from 12.15 p.m. onwards for the afternoon viewing of the film, returning to school by bus for the end of the school day at 3.30 p.m. All students are to be in school on Monday 25th in full school uniform for roll call during first class. Full supervision by teachers will be provided at all times. Your support of this fundraising event in aid of a very worthy cause would be greatly appreciated
