Students all over Ireland were asked by the Thomas Meagher foundation to participate in Flag Week -12th-17th March. Schools were provided with Tricolour lapel badges to sell, the proceeds of which were to be given to a charity of their choice. Students were also asked to promote pride in our National Flag and to promote its meaning for peace.
TY students in Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai held their Flag Day on Monday the 14th March and collected 560 Euro which they happily donated to the Bantry Hospice. Representatives from the Hospice called to the school on 7th April to collect the proceeds and thank the students for their efforts.
