On Friday the 1st year girls footballers played Kenmare in the Munster championship. CPB had a great first half with great teamwork giving them the lead with the halftime score 2-2 to 1-1. Sara Murphy scored 1-2 with Michaela O’Sullivan also raising a green flag. The opposition hit their purple patch in the second half and picked off some great scores. Aoife O’Donovan and Éabha Lynch were excellent in defence turning over great possession. Maggie O’Donoghue was a thorn in the opposition’s side running at them time and time again and supplying great kick passes to the inside forwards. Caitlin O’Neill and Niamh O’Sullivan impressed with their work rate and sharp passing. It was a solid team performance with all players linking well together. CPB scored a further 1-2 but lost out on a final score of 5-6 to 3-4.
