On Wednesday the Junior ladies took to the pitch at home to play local rivals Beara Community School. CPB started brightly and dominated possession for much of the first half with goals coming from Molly O’Mahony and Ciara Kelly. The hard working midfield duo of Seren Lehane and Belle O’Donoghue caused trouble for the opposition with their boundless energy. Belle, Ciara, Molly and Lucy Prendergast all raised white flags to leave the half time score 2-4 to 0-2 in CPB’s favour. It was a game of two halves as Beara found their rhythm in the second half scoring 2-5. CPB were finding scores hard to come by but Lauren Connell scored an excellent point from a free with Molly adding another to her tally. There was superb defending on display by Chloe Daly, Eibhlin Burke and Norah Cronin along with all the defence. Ella Foley in goals made several excellent saves to keep CPB in contention until late in the second half when Beara took the lead by a point. However, the CPB girls dug deep and a late goal from Lucy Prendergast proved to be vital as CPB ran out winners on a scoreline of 3-7 to 2-7.
