CPB Students Inspired by All Ireland Champion Deirdre O’Reilly in #SeriousSupport Workshop

A group of 2nd and TY students were lucky enough to have 11 time All Ireland champion Deirdre O’Reilly, Lidl Ambassador, into school on Monday to run a workshop as part of the #serioussupport initiative. CPB was one of 26 schools in Ireland selected. The programme is designed to educate teenage girls about the positive mental and physical health benefits of playing sport. The programme also aims to increase participation and reduce drop-out rates for teenagers in the sport.Deirdre shared her sporting journey, highs and lows, with ladies footballers in 1st, 2nd, TY and 5th year. After lunch Deirdre took the girls for a training session on the pitch. She will be back after midterm for a second workshop with the girls completing a project in the meantime.
