On Friday 4th March after school 27 Gaisce students along with Ms. Levis and Ms. O’Grady went to Drimoleague to complete the adventure section of their award. That evening they walked approximately 7km around the Drimoleague town area and Ilen River.
The students then prepared dinner at the accommodation in Top of The Rock Pod Páirc. After dinner there was a bonfire followed by a movie.
Up early on Saturday morning the students prepared breakfast before setting off on the Deelish Cascades and Glanaclohy walk which brought them to the top of the hill at Castledonovan allowing breathtaking views of Bantry Bay and surrounding areas.
They were also accompanied by Ms. McGrath and Ann Marie O’Sullivan whose help was greatly appreciated. All students will now receive their medals at the Awards Night. Well done all!!
