John Lonergan to speak in Bantry on
“Parenting – The Teen Years !”
Oct 2nd, Maritime Hotel Bantry hosted by Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí Parents Association
Bantry : The Parents Association of Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí is delighted to announce that renowned speaker, author and natural storyteller, John Lonergan will speak in Bantry about “Parenting Teenagers” on Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 at the Maritime Hotel, Bantry at 8pm
For many years, author and former Governor of Mountjoy John Lonergan has spoken widely on the topic of parenting, discussing both the challenges and the rewards. He passionately believes that parenting is by far the most difficult and complex task anyone will ever undertake in their life.
“I know of no other task that an adult will undertake in life that is as demanding, challenging, responsible, complicated and never-ending as parenting … [but], like the vast majority of parents, I had no real preparation for parenthood and received no training or direct help during the whole process.” – J Lonergan
On the night, John will be sharing his insights from years of professional and personal experience, as a father and grandfather on how Parents can guide and nurture their child to become mature, capable and independent especially during those tricky teenage years!!!
All are welcome and tickets @ €7 will be available at the door on the night.

ABOUT JOHN LONERGAN : John Lonergan spent 24 years as the governor of Mountjoy Prison, retiring in 2010. He gives talks to local communities and voluntary organisations, as well as second and third level students across the country. For over 20 years he has spoken on the topic of parenting – the challenges and the rewards, sharing his personal experience of parenting.
