Transition Year/1st Year A-Level students from schools all over Ireland were invited to a gathering in Knock Co. Mayo on Friday 4th October.
11 Students from Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí made the journey and were accompanied by the Chaplain Mr. Cotter and their RE teacher Miss O’Donovan. To reduce the cost of travelling the group shared a coach with Schull Community College.
The purpose of the Knock Youth Gathering (KYG) was to bring 5,000 young people (25 students from 200
schools) to Knock to celebrate the Year of Faith.
The high point of the day was the celebration of Holy Mass with the Papal Nuncio.
A copy of YOUCAT and Rosary Beads were gifted to each student (value €15).
