Well done to our under 15 Basketball team who got their season off to a winning start yesterday in an absolutely fantastic game against Skibbereen. The same two teams had played eachother for their clubs in the previous week when it was the Bantry boys who came away with a strong win but the schools match was to be a much closer and more exciting encounter. While Bantry took an early 12 point lead the Skibb boys gradually came back into the game with a fantastic comeback and eventually took the lead in the final minute. With 19 seconds remaining CPB got it back to level terms and it was left to a Jack Phillips free throw in the dying second to secure the win by the smallest margin for Colaiste Pobail Bheanntraí.The boys have three more pool games left with two victories being enough to secure a regional semi final spot. A number of them will also be part of the Under 16 squad travelling to Dublin next week for an All- Ireland quarter final at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.
