Impressive Cup Victories for 1st Year and Under 15 Soccer Teams
Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai are in a winning habit in all age groups in Soccer this season and adding to the ahievements are the 1st Year and Under 15 Soccer Squads who both had wins in their respective competitions last week.
The first years who are already in the last 16 draw for Munster secured a last 8 berth in the Cork Schools Cup with an excellent win against St Fachtnas of Skibbereen at home on Friday. After going down 1 nil CPB went into half time after two superb strikes from midfielder Shane Crowley. Excellent performances by Ayrton Doyle, Matthew Harley and an eye catching effort from substitute John Hurley allowed Bantry to control the game and one goal each from Botond Rozsa and Seanie O’ Sullivan secured passage to the quarter final.
The Under 15 team, also qualified for the Munster last 16 courtesy of a comfortable win over Blarney at home on Thursday. Bantry looked stronger from the kick off and had a comfortable 2 nil lead at hald time courtesy of a goal each from the O’Sullivan strikeforce of Seanie and older brother Ryan. Blarney did get a foot into the game but asecond goal from the younger O’Sullivan brother Seanie made sure of the result. It was an all round team performace on the day with Ryan O’Sullivan standing out by tormenting the Blarney denfense on every occasion that he was in possession and a defensive masterclass by the two centre halves John Enderson and Botond Rosza.
