Colaiste Pobail Bheanntrai’s Senior Soccer team have ended 2014 on a very positive note by qualifying for the quarter finals of the Cork Schools Cup in which they will play the winner of Patrician Academy Mallow and St Brogans of Bandon. The qualification comes courtesy of a hard fought win in a local derby gamecat home to St. Fachtnas of Skibbereen. The Bantry outfit trailed twice in the game, going down 1 nil after five minutes and then after equalising through a Connor Ellis strike to make it 1-1 at half time they conceded again to trail 2-1. But the Bantry side never looked beaten and great team play from Ellis, Anthony Hanley and Savo Dragas created numerous chance, three of which were converted by Bantry Captain Ailill Brosnan. The hat trick from Brosnan secures Senior Soccer for next term.
