Colaiste Pobail Athletes had a good day at the Aviva Munster Cross-Country Championships at CIT, on February 13th. The school was well represented with four teams competing on the day as well as individual athletes.
Darragh McElhinney ran a great race to take the minor boys 2500m race. Niamh Cotter won the senior girls title in brilliant style. Both Liam Cotter and Eoghan McElhinney came 17th and 16th respectively, narrowly missing out on qualification for the All Ireland schools. The first 15 individual athletes in each event qualify.
Well done to all CPB athletes on competing in a true cross-country challenge. We wish Darragh McElhinney, Caoimhe Harrington and Niamh Cotter the best of luck as they represent our school and the province of Munster in the fourth coming All Ireland Championships which will be held at CIT on Saturday March 8th.
