On Friday 13 May Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí played Desmond College, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick in round two of the Munster U-15 Hurling championship.
It was a comfortable victory for CPB as they were ahead on the scoreboard for the duration of the game and never looked like losing at any stage.
Two goals in the last five minutes gave Desmond College a bit of respectability as the game ended on a score line of 5-8 to 3-7.
Eoin O’Donovan was top scorer on the day with 7 points (5 frees), Cormac O’Connor scored a point with a long range effort from centre back and centre forward James Crowley capped a fine all round display with two goals. Michael Cronin, Michael O’Shea and Rudi Gaffney scored a goal each. CPB will face Scoil Pól Kilfinane in a quarter final.
